Medically Urgent Appointments

You will be offered an appointment with one of the doctors that day.

Home Visits

Please phone 01620 892169 for urgent or non-urgent visits. Please telephone before 10:00 whenever possible. If you can come to the surgery please do so. The doctor can see three patients in surgery in the time it takes to make one home visit. Your own doctor will be able to visit only for calls received before 11:30. Calls received after 11:30 will be passed to the duty doctor.

Routine Appointments

These appointments may be made up to one month in advance.

Duty Doctor Surgeries

These surgeries are booked when all other surgeries are full. It is necessary to phone the surgery after 0830 to book for these surgeries.

Accident & Emergency Cases

The Casualty Department at the Edington Cottage Hospital (next door to the Health Centre) is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Following an accident, if the patient is unable to travel to the Edington, please telephone 01620 892169. The doctors of the practice act as casualty officers for the hospital. Out-of-hours the service is nurse led with backup from the out-of-hours service.

Open Surgeries

If demand for appointments exceeds availability, then open surgeries are organised to cope with additional requirements.

Telephone Appointments

During the current pandemic all our appointments are initially via telephone consultation.  When you phone for an appointment from 8.30 a.m. the receptionist will ask you your symptoms and take contact details in order for your call to be returned by either a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Please note: It may not be possible at all times to speak to the doctor of your choice. It is important to make an appointment for each person seeing the doctor. Consultation appointments are at 10-minute intervals. Longer appointments are available for certain procedures. It is very important to let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment as it could be made available to another patient.
