In response to the Covid19 pandemic and the impact of the crisis on people’s mental health and well-being in East Lothian a new Mental Health Service is available to North Berwick patients from Tuesday 5th May.

Collaborate Working for Intermediate Care Mental Health (CWIC MH) is based in the East Lothian Community Hospital.  CWIC MH aims to promote a holistic model of supported self management to promote Mental Health and Well-being.

The service is accessible to people aged 18 and upwards who are registered with an East Lothan GP practice and are looking for support with their mental health.  The service will be available to all practices in East Lothian.

Areas covered include anxiety, emotional distress, low mood, psychosis, known mental health problems, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder – this is not an exhaustive list.

In response to the Covid19 crisis, consultations will be telephone based with the option to also use video conferencing.

The service will be available Monday to Friday 9 to 5 with an on-going review of need outwith these core hours.  Patients can self refer to this service by phoning 01620 642 963 or by phoning the main reception in North Berwick Group Practice who will be able to assist.
