In compliance with Scottish Government guidelines we kindly ask that from 29th June 2020 all patients arriving at the surgery please wear a face covering.  This measure is designed to protect both staff and patients.  Face coverings are a covering of the mouth and nose that are made of cloth, or other textiles, through which you can breathe, such as a scarf.  Due to supply shortages we will not be able to provide surgical masks to patients.  Exemptions include children under 5 years of age, those with breathing difficulties and those who have physical conditions which make it hard to keep the mask in place.

Our new online prescription ordering service is now live.  If you wish to use this service and haven't already registered, please download the access form here and bring your completed form in to us so we can get you set up for this new service. Please ask any of our Patient Care Administrators if you require further information or clarification.

Due to the ongoing outbreak we are putting in place a series of measures to keep all our patients and staff as safe as we possibly can:
- People who have concerns that they may have COVID are asked to phone 111 instead of calling your GP.  NHS24 will manage as many people as they can by phone and those that require triage will be directed to a Lothian wide hub.  NHS Lothian will open an assessment centre for patients who require to be seen.  The centre will be appointment only and access will only by via 111 and the triage hub.
- From Monday 16th March, for the foreseeable future, we will be triaging all GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) appointment requests by phone call. You will be asked for a summary of your symptoms, information regarding recent travel and if you have been in direct contact with a person who has tested positive for Coronavirus. The GP will contact you by return phone call and if deemed safe and necessary then you may be given an appointment for that afternoon.
- If you have already been given a pre booked appointment with a GP we will be in touch directly to discuss arrangements.
- Please do not attend Edington Cottage Hospital Minor Injuries clinic without first phoning in advance.
- Our health visiting team are still at work and happy to take your calls for any support or advice.

- Our self check in service has been removed, please see a receptionist to check in.
- If you have any concerns regarding hospital appointments or travel please visit www.nhsinform.scot and/or www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk

- Please see our Covid-19 page for all relevant information.  This can be found on the top right hand corner of our home page.
We would like to thank all our patients for their understanding.
